Bring On The Bloggy Brilliance!

From Karyl Cunningham ~ WANA Commons

About once a month, my collection of bloggy brilliance gets so big it must be spread around. That’s when y’all get a mashup of all the loveliness that has blown across my path.

You know I love to get my geek on so we’re going to start with…

Quirky, geeky fun!

Wonderful Writing Wisdom

Coupled with the Scrivener class I’m taking, this post from the Ruby Slippered Sisterhood, knocked the program outta the park for me. How To Use Scrivener for Plotting – Yowza!!

Plus, we have these four gems:

Saucy Social Media Offerings

I thought every single one of these posts was a must-read. You’ll have to tell me if you agree.

Holy Cowbell, these rock (& I don’t know where to put ’em)!

Inspirational Fun

As I roar into menopause, body image has become something I’m re-evaluating. August McLaughlin did an amazing post called, Body Image Mirrors: What Does Yours Reflect? Ginger Calem did a separate, equally fantastic, post called, Is Your Scale the Boss of You? Everyone – male and female – should read these posts.

Lisa Hall-Wilson blogs about her friend, Susan Minns, in The Red Shoe Effect. You simply must go watch these videos. Sooz is delightful (and so is Lisa).

The video at the end of this post made me cry: Jim Johnson – A Coach to Admire and Emulate by Meredith Bell.

I’m out there tweeting and Facebooking and just generally whooping it up with my pals on social media (y’all know you rock). I’m sure I must be connected to you on Facebook and Twitter since we adore each other so much, but just in case…

Also, while I’m on the topic of us getting to enjoy each other more, I’d like to take a poll on what your fave types of posts are here at More Cowbell, and what topics you might like to see more of. I’ll allow multiple entries so you can vote more than once if you need to, plus it’s multiple choice. Thank you for taking the time!

What bloggy brilliance have you stumbled across lately? Any more takers on Friday’s Fast Draft? (Definition of Fast Draft.) Which section of links got you the most fired up? Enquiring minds always want to know these things here at More Cowbell!

Chuck’s link is the first link I will hit up. I’m nearly finished with the rough draft of my next novel, and I can’t wait to see what I screwed up on! 😉 Seriously though, since I’m okay with sucking, I can’t wait to read his advice.

The second link I will be checking out is the Gluten Free etc., link. The thought that I might need to have a restricted diet never EVER crossed my mind (always for somebody else, isn’t it?)……. until last week. I found out I have a soy allergy (the damn $*^& is in everything!), as well as a funky rice allergy.

I’m a huge sushi fan. Needless to say I will be in a state of mourning for the next few months. At least I can still have my sashimi. Good info, Jenny.

Oh, Zack! My sister is allergic to soy and it IS in everything. I had to go to Tamerind sauce rather than regular soy sauce because the regular has gluten in it. I’ll bet you can find what you need online. That’s where I get everything. Plus, I order a lot of food off Amazon. 🙂

Jenny, dang you – I’m REALLY trying not to get distracted by the shiny Scrivner thing!!!!
Sigh. Okay, when I’m done with this book, I’m buying it.

It’s all your fault! Love the 7 plot points – and I’m coming back after more coffee for several more – thanks for these – I scour the internet for great writing stuff, and some of this, I hadn’t seen!

I’m off to read the scrivener link because it still scares me for some reason. Will. Embrace. It. But … can’t hop over there before thanking you for the great shout-out. I appreciate it!!!

  5. Thank you for linking to me in this awesome mash-up! Now I have my evening reading cut out for me 🙂

  6. Thanks for linking to my tribute for Sooz. I hope lots of people read the tribute and are touched, because helping people gave her so much joy.

  7. How about if we ponder humorous undies? Okay, so I may have voted twice. 😉 Thanks for the touching shout out, Jenny. You’ve listed some of my favorite bloggers, and some newbies (to me) that sound super. Thanks for supporting the blog-o-sphere and filling it with glimmering, ponder-some panties! I mean that in the BEST way.

  8. A plethora of amazing…LOVE IT! It’s always great to be able to come to one spot where I know I’ll find a ton of goodness. Off to go be click happy and embark on a commenting frenzy….squeeee!!!

  11. Jess Witkins says:

Oooh, so pleased to have made your mash up! I’ve read a lot of the ones on your list, but many new names to check out too! Thanks for compiling them, Jenny! #YouRock

  12. lynnkelleyauthor says:

    Great mashup, Jenny! Thank you!

  13. Brilliant links, Jenny. I have several tabs open again 😛

And I picked every single topic in your poll because all your posts rock. But if you had restricted us to, say three at max, I would have picked Thoughty, Parenting and one humor post, likely More Cowbell.

    • Jenny Hansen says:

Thanks, Reetta! You’re so sweet. I’m thinking of splitting off my baby and parenting posts into a different blog, which I why I took that poll. I appreciate your vote!
