A Halloween Costume To Make You Go Ewwww

My Honey is a handsome, manly, ex-football playing kind of dude.

At least he was until I got hold of him a few Halloweens ago…

It’s amazing what pink lipstick and fake eyelashes can do, no?

If you really think you can take it, he’s at Writers In The Storm today

(Be afraid. Be very afraid.)

I hate to leave that image, burned into your brain…

Happy Halloween!
Stay safe and dry!!

I love the costume! Too cute!

  2. LauraDrake says:

    Truly frightening….
I’m gonna have bad dreams for a LONG time!

  3. zkullis says:

Ha ha ha, I love it Jenny!

Things I’m doing at work keep me from being able to dress up and get all decked out. Oh well. I don’t know if I’d be able to pull off the Flintstone’s look as well as your hubby did.

    • Zack, Zack, Zack…

You’re all about undercover work. No. I didn’t mean that in the IYKWIM sense of the phrase. Although…

Unless they strip search you when you enter your hallowed halls at work, nothing prevents you from getting decked out in manly Thunderwear, tee shirts with slogans, decals on the bottoms of your shoes.

I’ll anticipate more creativity next Halloween.

      • zkullis says:

Yes, my undercover work is my best work… 😉

I was actually thinking of wearing a shirt that says “Kegelmaster repairman”. Thunderwear is a MUST!

        • KA-SNORT!

I have not forgotten my promise to post on KegelMaster. I went all political on my site today. Perhaps that would be a good follow-up.

          I’m howling right now, because…

Your comment raises a question not even I dare to ask on a blog.

    • Jenny Hansen says:

He makes a fabulous “grown up Pebbles,” doesn’t he? You can always get dressed up AFTER work, you know….

  4. At this moment, I’m cleverly disguised as a productive writer.

Back patio, bedhead hair, laptop, and floor length terry cloth bathrobe. Scary stuff.

LOVE the pics and the pumpkin. Enjoy Baby Girl’s sugar rush. When her head spins to the back like an Exorcist scene? She’s had enough.

    • Jenny Hansen says:

Nice costume, Gloria! And you didn’t think we were actually going to give Baby Girl more than one or two pieces of her candy, did you? Her daddy LOVES candy, and will be “helping” her with it like a wild man, I’m sure.

  5. Hubby makes quite the handsome lady friend…WAHAHAHA!! OMG luv it!!!

Most years I find some party or excuse to dress up. Last year hubby and I were out at the camp and dressed up only to find no one was having a party and we were the only two in costume. Didn’t slow us down one bit. LOL!!

This year we’ve been busy with other stuff so we didn’t get around to it but I’ll fire you a pick of something from year’s prior. We are normally HUGE Halloween buffs!!!

Hmmmm…I wonder if hubby’d try the cavewoman costume…ROFL!!!

    • Jenny Hansen says:

Send me a pic! I’ll put it up. 🙂

Note: if your hubby tries the cavewoman, be sure to buy really long fake eyelashes and add some extra eyeliner. It makes ALL the difference!!

  6. Jess Witkins says:

I’m in costume at my blog today! Will be walking around at work in it too! Happy Halloween!

  7. Julie Glover says:

Wow, that was…wow. I will be at WITS today, so I’ll get the full effect! (Whether I’m ready for it or not.)

I need to dig out the photo of me as Catwoman, which is somewhere around here. Hmmm. The story was that my hubby and I were dressing up as Batman villains, and I found a Riddler costume for him. Talking to my sister, I said, “I was thinking of going as Catwoman, but I don’t think I can pull off the Michelle Pfeiffer look. So now I’m thinking Poison Ivy…” She answered, “Seriously? You don’t think you can pull off Michelle Pfeiffer, but you do think you can pull off Uma Thurman?!!” Ha, ha! I threw caution to the wind and bought the shiny black unitard…

  8. Jane Sadek says:

I dressed my manly man up as a woman one year for Halloween. In fact, he dressed up like me and I dressed up as him. We had a great time doing it, but in spite of the name tags most people didn’t get it. However, we had a scream trying to adopt each others mannerisms and speech patterns along with their clothes.

  9. susielindau says:

So hilarious! I haven’t cross-dressed Danny… yet! Happy Halloween to you! I hope you are recovering from your shingles nightmare!

  10. Jenny. He’s a hottie. Are you allowed to go out yet? Because it would be fun to go to a Starbucks with hubby all dressed up. Just on any old day. I so love drag.

    • Jenny Hansen says:

I just went out today!! It was awesome. 🙂

And do you know how much work it is to do up your dude in drag??!! A trip to Starbucks is simply not enough of an occasion to do fake eyelashes and eyeliner. It took me 45 minutes to make my guy up.

  11. LOL Your hubby was real sport for putting on that costume. What are your costumes this year?

Comments about dressing hubbies for Halloween pinged a memory cell.

I hosted a Halloween party one year. In advance of the party, I assigned each wife/husband another person to dress for Halloween. Men chose costumes for a wife other than their own. Women chose costumes for a man.

The person assigned to my 6’2″ husband chose to dress him as a ballerina. Tutu, tights, leotard and tiara. When she told me, I knew I was in deep doo-doo for having spawned the idea. His gym shorts, sloppily laced tennis shoes and cigar saved what little manly pride he could bring to the party.

I chose to liberally lace his hot, spiced, apple cider with Southern Comfort.

He swears to this day he’s missing leg hair from putting on those tights.

  13. I am batman. With retractable wings. You may have seen the costume in the funeral vlog I did for educlaytion: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5E8MXZKLgw. Once students descend on me in a few minutes, I’ll get them to take a picture. Maybe.

And my husband and I once won a costume contest as “man and woman in a windstorm.”

You’re husband is adorable. (And confident given he “let” you post that pic!)

    • Jenny Hansen says:

You know, I DID ask for permission, both for here and at WITS. Unbelievably, he said yes. 🙂

OMG – Man and Woman in a Windstorm!! That’s fantastic. I once saw a guy who was the bottom of a shoe. He had a converse hi-top on his head and crap stuck all over him. It was fabulous.

I can’t wait to see your Batman!! Tweet it to me, OK?

  14. You are correct. EWWWW. 🙂

  15. Diana Beebe says:

That is so funny. Your husband must have a crazy funny sense of humor to dress up like that in the first place and let you post it (twice!) in the second place. 🙂 I like Baby Girl’s pumpkin. So cute.

One year at my office, one of the guys wore his daughter’s Pocahontas costume. The image of him trying to keep the top of that dress around his chest is still vivid in my memory. He could have gone shirtless and all the women in the office would have been much happier. 😀

  16. Dawn says:

Hands down, the best costume I ever wore was the year I was 7 months preggers with my 3rd child. At the last minute we decided to attend a costume party, and all I could find at the costume shop (where I originally wanted to rent a lovely renaissance gown to cover my expansive figure) was a leopard print catsuit with matching lime green bolero. So, hubs and I went as a pregnant prostitute and her pimp. We were the hit of the ball, but, alas, I did not think to have pics taken. Too bad, too, ’cause I looked HOT!!
    Happy halloween!

  17. Emma says:

He is such a good sport. Hold on to him 🙂
As kids we wore black bin bags as witches’ dresses and thought we were very cool. Happy Halloween, Jenny.

  18. Happy Halloween!! Your guy is my kind of guy!! The most I’ve gotten mine to wear is the classic scrubs outfit and a big afro wig with a blow up guitar… he was Slash and I was Axl Rose. LOL

  19. I had two thoughts when I saw that picture…Wilma Flintstone…and the ghost dressed up as a woman in the 90s Casper movie (the one who ‘kissed’ Bill Pullman). Anyway…great sport, your hubby. Sounds like the two of you know how to have fun.

Hmm… Not sure I’ve dressed up since I was 12 or 13. I can scare people in the morning though, right after I crawl out of bed. 🙂

  20. Natalie Hartford's Hubby says:

    HELLO WILMA! Grrrowl!
