Voting is hot and heavy in the March Movie Madness going on at Educlaytion! RAPUNZEL made it to the second round and I need y’all to go here to vote and help me advance to Round 3.
My gal is up against “Farm Boy” Westley from the Princess Bride, which is one of my favorite movies so this is gonna be a rough race.
Yes, Farm Boy’s hot <blah-blah-blah>. But Rapunzel kicks A$$ with only her wits, her frying pan and the 80 feet of hair she’s got to schlep around.
My question for you: who’s got MORE COWBELL??! [ra-pun-ZEL..ra-pun-ZEL…]
Campaign Slogan:
VOTE RAPUNZEL – she’s got a SPINE OF STEEL!
On to other news…
Round 1 of ROW80 ends tomorrow! Round 2 starts on April 2nd so start thinking about your goals AND the big Rock the ROW party we’ll be having at the ROW80 hashtag on April 4th.
Our first ROCK the ROW Party, hosted by Nicole Basaraba and I was a blast – details here.
This one, hosted by Barbara McDowell and Lena Corazon, promises to be even better.
Are you ready to get your party on???
Have you participated in ROW80 yet? Do you plan to continue on with Round 2? What was the most important lesson you learned this round? Please take a moment for a quick trip over to Educlaytion to VOTE RAPUNZEL!
Jenny
p.s. I accidentally scheduled a second blog today at Writers In The Storm and it is a wowzer. If you get a moment, please go visit Attack of the Blog. You’ll be glad you did. 🙂
Voted for Rapunzel. Strong women are a welcome addition to fiction. ‘Specially if they kick @ss. Another slogan: Rapunzel, dumb blond my butt.

Thank you, Tom!! As a lifelong blonde. I’m convinced that the jokes are all about the brunettes who bleach their hair. 🙂

Awesome job with Rapunzel in the March Movie Madness, Jenny. I casted my vote yesterday. Good luck!
I can’t believe it’s mid-March already and the first round of this year’s Row80 is ending. Phew. This was my second time participating and I definitely learned a lot about my goals, structuring time to meet them and how to schedule other activities around my most important ones.

Hey there, Angela. I wasn’t on the ballot yesterday, so hopefully you voted for someone I liked!! Structuring time is always the big one, in my book – rough, rough, rough…

Oh yeah, the party has already started over here in the Midwest!!! Plus it is nice outside? And “The Hunger Games” is on tap for this weekend? And I just had some M&Ms so I’m all sugar high (working out tonight, whew)?! Gonna pipe down and go check out the voting above. Can I cast like 20 for you, Jenny? *rowdy pre-partier wanders away*

Sure, you can, Barbara – just send an interoffice email with the link and VOTE RAPUNZEL on it. It’s just like casting a vote yourself. 🙂
p.s. I love that you’re always rowdy!!

I also cast a vote for Rapunzel. Though it was close: that was the only pairing where I knew both characters. Now I’m hoping she doesn’t come up against James Bond.
I missed the first ROW80 challenge, but I’m going to try this one. Wish me luck.

If she came up against James Bond, I might have a teensy issue myself. LOL…thanks for the vote, John! And you will LOVE the community of ROW80.

I actually had a rather important epiphany this round. Life and writing change throughout the year, from November when I do NaNoWriMo and I’m writing like mad, to the holidays and the New Year when other life matters require my attention. I need to figure out what other yearly or one-time events are coming up, and plan around them instead of berating myself for not writing more when that happens.

Excellent epiphany, AmyBeth! My favorite thing about ROW80 is it helps you figure out what works (and what doesn’t).

Sorry Jenny, Can’t do it. I can’t vote against my boy Westley.
“I told you I would always come for you. Why didn’t you wait for me?”
“Well… you were dead.”
“Death cannot stop true love. All it can do is delay it for a while.”
“I will never doubt again.”
“There will never be a need.”
Are you kidding me? As much as I’d like to tell you “as you wish”, Westley epitomizes the heroic character for me. He bested the Giant, the Spaniard and the Sicilian and turned two of them from enemies to allies. He stayed consistently in love with the same person (in spite of her being a waffly, place-holder of a character) and conquered death in order to be with her. I actually think Indigo has the best, and most movingly delivered line of any movie anywhere (you know the one I mean), but Westley is a true *hero*.

Very well-thought out argument, Mike. I do love Princess Bride. But when it’s up against me at an MMM tournament, Wesley’s gotta be defeated. If I lose to Wesley, I’ll totally pick up the torch for him in future rounds.
But now? He is dead to me!

Hi Jenny! I am off to vote for Rapunzel! Rapunzel!
I can’t believe I made it through round 1. I’m stunned. And the fact that I’ve been thinking about changing some of my goals and moving forward to round 2 freaks me out a little, but when am I NOT freaked out. LOL!
Okay, well, I will see you over at the party on…scrolls to the top…April 4th! I do hope there will be lots of cyber champagne! I’m there! Party, party, party!!!! 🙂
Oh, and thank you again for taking some of your very precious time to try to help me with…I won’t say the name. Not going there. I’m under the radar with an unidentified email address. Shhh, don’t tell anyone. As Susie Lindau says, it’s a secret. 🙂

Thanks, Karen! And I am so very proud of you!!!! You did NOT want to get on board for this ROW80 thing and look at how well you stuck it out and worked toward those goals. Have your honey raise a glass to you because you deserve it. 🙂
Can’t wait to drink some champagne with you on the 4th…

As a fellow long-hair girl, I must say, go Rapunzel!
I didn’t get as much accomplished this ROW80 as I’d hoped, but I’m still pleased with the progress. I learned that I can’t let my goals hinge on other people, especially when I don’t get my stuff to them when I plan. 🙂 Hope I’ll be able to make the par-tay!

Rapunzel got my vote! I love her — with all that hair and attitude: She’s got hairitude! I’ll be back for Round 2, just after I get my party self through the Rock the Row event. Congrats on crossing the finish line, Jenny!

Got to click and vote! Getting right on it, but first…. thanks for your support and great post throughout round 1 (my first), will defiantly be signing up for round two. I learned – I blog too much which takes me away from writing. What can I do about it? I have incorporated various time saving helpers (Tweet Deck, Buffer etc) with helps me pre-programme post but does it save me time? Not much. I need to focus more on NOT blogging so much next round. But with three of them, that is not an easy goal. 🙂
See you next round. Hope Rapunzel wins 🙂
