Note to my early readers: Yes, this was a draft post and a blonde moment…But I promise to bring you the groovy stuff either later tonight when I get off work or tomorrow morning. I found a new tool and I’ll be sharing it with all of you.
In the meantime, Gwen Hernandez put out a post about Scrivener over at Writers In the Storm yesterday that knocked my socks off – if you haven’t read it yet, DO. She’s giving away a seat in one of her next two classes. Squeeee!!
Taking the Scary Out of Scrivener
I guarantee, she’ll get you thinking…
Jenny
I love it too Jenny but then sometimes I think ‘Oh God, I’m wasting all this time when I should/could/ought to be doing something really creative, valuable and mind expanding instead’
Please don’t laugh but I’m trying very hard with Twitter at the moment, I still haven’t got a clue what it’s about (I’ve only just learnt what a # tag means and oh, not just that, but importantly how to make one as Uk computers don’t have them on the keyboard) and I find myself spending hours just scrolling through the tweets of the 7 bizzillion peeps that I follow thinking ‘Heck, do I really have to read all of this, is it really that important? will I be missing a trick if I don’t?
My Dad who is rather ‘stuffy’ as we say in England and old-fashioned (let’s not beat around the bush here, he’s a positive luddite) sent me an email yesterday…’Dear Lottie, why do you keep sending me requests to follow you on Twitter and Facebook? Surely email and texting is good enough if we need to keep in touch?’ (bear in mind that we live 7,800 miles apart from each other)
Well yes it is Dad, and no it isn’t, because times have changed and like you Jenny I LOVE social media too and I’m going to get to grips with this Twitter thingy if it’s the last thing that I do. π

Lottie, sometimes I love Twitter and sometimes I stay as far away from it as possible! Haven’t quite gotten the hang/habit of it. Your father made me smile…

Lottie, you discovered your hashtags!! I’m so happy for you. And I had NO IDEA the UK keyboards didn’t have the pound sign. The things you learn… π
I love Twitter because I get really great conversations over there and I learn so much from all the links. But most people have a very clear preference one way or another.

Jenny, I dig Facebook, too, but was there supposed to be more to this post? If not, that’s cool; it’s just that brevity isn’t usually your thing…

Nope, this was DRAFT I forgot I scheduled. I’ll do the real post tomorrow when I’m not out of my mind. I just wrote y’all a note. *sigh*

LOL, Jenny! Take heart – your “draft” got more comments (already; I’m sure there will be many more!) than most of my full-blown posts! π

You’re a sweet, sweet friend to say that, Kathy. This is why I don’t usually schedule things until they’re 100% done. I’m just too absent-minded to remember I did it. π

Hahaha! I’m with Kathy! Is this a social experiment? π

Y’all are the best posse EVER!! I saw the first tweet this morning and made a sound MUCH worse than “Erk” and ran to my computer to fix my killed-myself-in-Crossfit and forgot-about-this-post moment.
However, you’ve got to admit, this was an entertaining fail…. π

I read the earlier post on Facebook interactions. I thought…Wow. That was short and to the point. haha. Didn’t even know what to say to compete against that brevity. π
I want to check out Scrivener. I’ve recently discovered a formatting nightmare in the iPad app I’ve used for two years in typing up chapters in my WIP. I’m heartbroken over the discovery.

Oh NO, Brinda! That’s terrible. Well, Gwen is the gal to ask Scrivener questions of to see if it could be a helpful app for you. I’ll cross my fingers for you.

Isn’t she a stitch, Karen? It wouldn’t be half as fun here without Gloria stirring things up, eh?
