Life is All About…Give Me One Word!

Anyone who hangs out here at More Cowbell knows I find life and people to be endlessly entertaining. On Facebook the other day, I saw this update from Kelley Harvey:

Maxine ALWAYS hits the nail on the ass.

Maxine_Life is about ass

I do adore Maxine. She reminds me of my mama, and she doesn’t take any crap (no pun intended).

Still, I’d pick a different word to sum up life ~ family, entertainment, passion, friendship. But I really like that she covered the gamut with just one word. How low can YOU go (word wise) to finish this sentence:

Life is all about…

So, do you agree with Maxine? Is life about ass? Or do you have another word to sum things up? Enquiring minds always want to discuss these things here at More Cowbell!

  1. I love the Maxine comics, too, but I’d pick a different word/words as well: right now, I’d pick being present, as in living, not floating through the days.

I did laugh, though, because she covers all too much of an unconsidered life in that.

Ah, on a day when I promised Self I’d get straight to work… Dear Maxine; Do you ever kiss or get a piece of the ass you live with? Just wondering.

Moments. Life is all about moments.

Life is all about Scrat. We pretty much act the same way in life about life that prehistorical Squirrel does over an acorn. And we also tend to end up with the same results. That’s why I like that little guy so much. We are all just trying to get our “acorns” [Acorn here means anything you really want out of life]

Perspective. What seems like a big deal turns out to be nothing. What seemed like nothing affects the rest of your life. You have to accept that bad stuff happened to understand WHY it happened. Too often, the good stuff gets lost in day-to-day living, and you only realize later how good it was. 🙂

  7. Love. Because we all know that all we need is love, love, love. Love is all we need. Wait. Life is about chocolate. (grin)

    Passion.
Be passionate about life. Live life with passion – it’s not a spectator sport. Love with passion – it’s the only way. If you have to hate something, then chose it well and hate it with a passion. Music, work, goals, dreams, ideas, writing, and hobbies, they are all improved with passion.

Jenny, Life is about loving the people and things near to us and being tolerant of those not wise enough to agree.

  15. Lol. How can you top Ass? Yet, you do have some awesome words here. I like the word, patience. Then there’s love, of course. Another word that comes to mind is, acceptance.

  19. Zack already took Passion, so I’m going to go with Balance. We tend to allow ourselves to get over-balanced (spend most of our time and thoughts) with things that don’t matter much in the long run. Work. Anger. Hatred. Revenge. And we underbalance things like Family. Relationships…along with the other things we are actually Passionate about. It’s not so strange that we find ourselves frustrated, scratching our heads and wondering why we’re so miserable.

    I love that! 🙂 *giggle.

But I would say life is all about learning. Learning about life, about ourselves, how to love and who is worthy of love, that we are worthy of love, learning of and by our mistakes/successes, who to trust and who to ditch, what we wanted, want, will want, the difference between wanting and needing, about aging, and how it sucks, but also about all it offers – like knowledge. All we do from birth is learn, until we die. IF we don’t, I suspect our lives are les lived and possibly, shorter-lived. X

How LOW can you go? Hmmm… let me see… Heading down from where she stopped, as low as I can go is the sole.

But… kick in a homonym: Soul. It embraces. Pushes away. Laughs. Cries. Takes in the beauty of a sunset, the glory of fall foliage… coolness of an evening breeze. It’s half of what you invest when you invest everything (heart and… ) And what most ya’ll pour into your writing.

It’s the bulls-eye of the bulls-eye; from rich, finger-lickingly good food; to the love of your life, Soul prefaces them both.

Relationships. Finding them, building them, maintaining them, leaving them. Without a relationship with someone or something, there is no support for love, patience, goodness, kindness, passion…or even “ass”…lol. Maybe especially “ass”. 🙂
