A Pimp and Promote Opportunity + Yesterday’s Prize Winner

We’ve thrown open the comments over at Writers In The Storm today for a bit of Pimp and Promote! Stop in and strut your stuff. Better yet, come meet new people and find out about their cool stuff.

For those of you unfamiliar with the Pimp and Promote concept, we encourage you to:

1. Promote: share one thing that you’re proud of (i.e. a new book, an idea, a blog).
2. Pimp: Do the same for someone else whose work has lit you on fire this week.

Pretty easy, huh? All you have to do is click that link in the first paragraph. 🙂

Now on to the winner from yesterday’s post, Do You Have Tattoo Envy?

ComeBackToME-199x300The first people Random.org picked had already bought the book, which is a very good sign. The third one is Gloria Richard!

Note to Gloria:
Please let me know what sort of e-reader you use and I will send the book to you in that format. If you’d prefer me to send it right to your device (IYKWIM), I believe I can do that too. (Do I know my tech-challenged posse members, or what?) 🙂

I hope you all are getting ready for an outstanding weekend! The stomach virus has finally left our house so we shall be celebrating like mad.

Jenny

  1. Woo-Hoo on the free ePub book, Jenny and Coleen. I. Am. So. Excited!

    [Pause for happy dance.]

I almost clicked the handy linky-love to purchase the book myself. I’m glad I didn’t. Not because I’m too cheap. Not because I didn’t truly want to read Come Back to Me. Why, then? Because, I get to have my name IN BOLD on The Jenny Hansen More Cowbell site. How cool is that?

Moi? Techie challenged? I use Kindle for PC on my Windows 8 enabled laptop. I leave it to you to unravel how the book moves from point available to point downloadable. I typically bring my books in from The Amazon.

You have my email. Feel free to assume pretend I’m a whack-a-doodle when you craft the instructions.

Thanks from the bottom of my cucumber-enhanced Mundies. Kidding!

I gave those up for lent.

I’ll be back to pimp and promote. Now that G-man Zack is back on Cowbell radar with K.B. and filbio in line with him, I have to keep up the Common Tater count if I hope to win your Prolific Participant Prize this year.

SO glad you’re on the done-with-that-mess side of the stomach flu.

    • Gloria, if you don’t win the Prolific Partcipant Prize, you certainly should win the LOL award, or something!! 🙂 You are cracking me up!

Gloria, I am soooo excited that you won! It must have been fate cuz Tamara Morning and Susie Lindau already have the book, so I had to keep on drawing. 🙂

Get on over to Twitter and give me the email address you use to log into Amazon via direct message. That should be all I need from you to have it show up on your Kindle app, funny girl.

Update on the stomach flu: Babykins went to school today and threw up AGAIN. So perhaps we’ll get to start the merry-go-round over… *buries head in hands*

      • Tweety Bird DM on its way, Jenny.

Soooo sorry to hear about Babykins. I’d rather be sick myself than watch a little one go through that. I’m sure you’re the same.

Let me know when she’s well so I can begin to annoy overwhelm impart wisdom with Blog-jack comments. Until then, I’ll behave.

        Mostly.

  2. I’d love to pimp out Barbara McDowell. 🙂 I am a huge reality TV junkie and have been watching American Idol’s new season with a passion. The talent this year is out of this world; especially the ladies – wowzers! And I wait with bated breath after each episode for Barbara’s Rants from an Idol Addict: http://barbaramcdowell.net/2013/03/22/american-idol-recap-top-9-elimination/
She is always spot on and I love her sarcasm, humor and gritty critics. They always make me smile….

I know!!! Barbara completely keeps me up to date on American Idol. I don’ watch TV so I don’t know what I’d do without her and Tiffany A. White (who is also a TV-aholic).

    Thanks for the opportunity, Jenny!

Pimpage: I’m just finishing up teaching my first class for Margie Lawson’s Writers Academy “Submissions that Sell!” and I really enjoyed it – have some high-level students, with nice shiny new submissions! I’ll be teaching it again in September.

Promotage:Have you heard about the new Women’s Fictions Writers Association? Non profit/Non RWA group. WF is defined as “the story of a woman’s journey.” If you write stories like that, check it out – we’ll be taking memberships soon! In the meantime, we have a Yahoo loop. If you’d like to get into that, email me at laura_drake1123 (at) Yahoo.

Hi, Jenny! Wow, you can access electronic devices remotely? Romance writers, hang onto your “research” tools, LOL! *kidding*

Gloria, congrats on winning Coleen’s book! You also want to win top commenter on Jenny’s site, eh? Good luck with that, hunny. 😉

I’d like to pimp Rachel Funk Heller. She’s a fab writer, blogger, and WANA teacher, and she’s working really hard to pull together a workshop series to support a Fast-Draft-like marathon we’re doing in April, called “Emotion Draft.” Really looking forward to it! She’s “kupaianaha” as her locals would say (meaning “wonderful” – at least, according to wikiAnswers, LOL – who knows, maybe I just called her a brussels sprout or something). 😉

Still promoting Dangerous and Unseemly, my debut mystery novel! I’ve got a couple of nice reviews, and I’m starting to get positive feedback as folks finish reading the novel, which is exciting. Also super-funny/kinda cool when Amazon tried to promote my own book to me the other day, LOL.

Thanks for running another pimp/promote day, Jenny! Happy weekend!

    • Game on, K.B! You out spatchcocked me, and I’m out for revenge.

Perhaps I need to blog-jack* more on your site just to keep you busy.

I’m sooo excited about Rachel’s class! I have a book or two to finish with it. 🙂

And on the “device” front…I plan to put the Cowbell Mind-Meld on Gloria and her Kindle, you know. LOL.

I’d like to promote one thing; http://www.tomwisk.wordpress.com . It’s the beginning of a reboot of my blog. And pimping OneStory.com it’s a site that has a short story every three weeks. You can subscribe for eighteen bucks. It’s a nice treat getting a story in the mail and it can be an outlet for that short story you’ve got stashed and have been hard-pressed to find a genre mag for.

That’s fabulous, Tom! I’m so glad you’re going to give your blog a re-boot. It’s so important to do that periodically.

And I’ve been writing a ton of short stories lately so I’m delighted to know about OneStory. 🙂

I really enjoyed reading Coleen Patrick’s post about Tattoo Envy. I know many people who have them, including my fiancee’.

And I found a new blog group that I recently joined that I’d like to promote. The Northeast Bloggers Network. It’s a great group of bloggers that are located in the states of Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine. It’s a small group so far and they also have a facebook site. Nice people there.
