We’re going to change things up this Techie Tuesday… It’s the holiday season and most people are feeling the pinch of Busy Life Syndrome. I know I sure am.
Chad Carver and I had a chat on this exact subject last night over our latest Words With Friends game on Facebook:
December 17th, 10:26 PM
LOL… And I’m back on Facebook after once again leaving you hanging for a few days. Christmas holidays are here.
December 17th, 10:29 PM
Oh, I’ve heard of that holiday…Welcome back!
December 17th, 10:40 PM
LOL. It’s my job to onboard new hires at the accounting firm where I work. We just took on a new partner and are looking at two new accountants. Can we say busy?
and here’s the part that slayed me…
December 17th, 10:41 PM
Busy usually means less shit disturbing, which strikes me as an important factor in your life. 😉

ROFL…
My favorite quote on being busy:
Respect people who find time for you in their busy schedule…But love people who never look at their schedule when you need them. ~ Anonymous
Periodically, I highlight the Top More Cowbell Commenters with a link to one of their great blogs and a huge heartfelt shout-out. (WordPress tells me in the stats who my top commenters are!)
This blog wouldn’t be half as much fun without all of you who take time out of your busy lives to join the discussion here and make us all laugh.
I’ve put my top six standouts below.
December More Cowbell Gold Star Commenters 🙂
Marcy Kennedy – How To Create A Truly Frightening Villain
Zack Kullis – Pricey Poo-Brew (put down your drink before reading)
K.B. (Kathy) Owen – 10 Reasons Why It Rocks To Be Santa
Kristy K. James – Why? A powerful post about the Newtown shooting…
Gloria Richard – Gloria is always good for a belly laugh or a blogjack, but have you seen the Social Media With Savvy Series she does with Brinda Berry? STELLAR!
Patricia Sands – Have you seen Patricia’s Friday series on France? Her photos will transport you! They’re amazing. I love these posts. 🙂
Who are the standout bloggers and commenters in your neck of the woods? Let’s heap comment love on these magnificent friends who help the blogosphere go ’round!
Jenny
Thanks for the shout-out! Huges hugs `n kisses, Jenny.
I can’t wait to read those other links. Every one of those bloggers are über-fantastic

It’s timely that Jenny’s ROFL Facebook message involves “less chit disturbing.” I loved your pooh-brew post.
Okay. So. Mr. Educator Person. I am clueless about why that FB comment was so funny. A joke I didn’t get? Say it isn’t so.
Jenny? Zack? Anyone? Help me out here. Or, does it involve disclosure best left to a private email.

You’re talking about the FB conversation with Chad? I think that ones self-evident! Or are you talking about something else? *pre-coffee confusion*

I nearly peed myself over Chad’s comment too…he completely makes me laugh! And he’s pretty patient about the whole 1-2 moves a day speed in Words with Friends. 🙂
You are one of my happy stellar members of the posse you know….

I tend to thrive on that manic busy, but only for short bursts. It really is hard to do it all for any length of time. Great idea about thanking the people who do manage to be consistently supportive. I checked mine and I wasn’t surprised to see a couple overlaps — Kristy James and Marcy Kennedy! The support and love it fantastic! Awesome post, Jenny.

Holy Cowbell, Jenny. Thank you! I am thrilled this ping-back points to a post by Brinda. Especially one in which she shares a presentation made to her YA readers at the request of the school librarian. How cool is that?
Answer: Very.
MOTTO: My glob is only a B-L-O-G when Brinda posts. She’s pushed me into Social Media and blog hops and winky-dink-links in the year she’s been a regular.
Noodle Noggin took a glob hiatus to whip her WIP into sweet submission. (Back on Friday.)

Jenny, you and your More Cowbell posse are the most fun to hang with! There’s always excellent information-sharing and support for each other, helpful tips, a lot of crazy times and SO MUCH LAUGHTER! YES! Thanks so much for the shout-out. I’m deep in the editing trenches again so have been a bit off the radar and waaaaay behind with blogging. I’ll see you in France on Friday though! Merry Christmas!

I usually keep myself over-the-top busy, because I’m hyper, heh. But the holiday season definitely kicks my butt. It’s not only the craziness of shopping, wrapping gifts, mailing, planning Christmas menu, cleaning the house, helping with my kids’ school stuff, but on top of it there is writing two books simultaneously (screams) and promoting my published work. Thank God for my writers and bloggers buddies! I couldn’t do it without them!

Happy Tuesday my busy, busy friend! I’m actually trying to take some time each day to just appreciate my family, all that I have, and enjoy the holiday season. Today I’m taking Birthday Girl out for some shopping and lunch, then I might bake some cookies. That huge patch of editing I need to get done? It can wait until the morning. My daughter is more important than any of my books.
I love your top commenter shout out! That’s a cool feature I might borrow in the new year.

Aww, Jenny, thank you hunny! You rock! I don’t know how you do it – really. I haven’t been on the web lately as much as I’d like (I have a cold on top of the Christmas busy-ness, ugh). But I’ll catch up with y’all! There’s no escaping me – I mean – see ya around!
Merry Christmas,
Kathy

Thanks so much for the shout out, Jenny! I sure hope things settle down so you can relax and enjoy the holidays a little more. I’d intended to cut back on some stuff this week, but then it hit me when I got up today that I need to start composing new Chinese proverbs. I was thinking something along the lines of, “When boyfriend of number 2 daughter call and let phone ring 50 time, waking mother up 4 hour after she fall asleep, air horn promise deaf in 1 ear next time it happen.”
Do you think I have a future in Chinese proverb writing? Or maybe greeting cards… 😉

Enjoy the moments, Jenny. we never know what our children are going to remember and value as they grow older (truly one of the surprises of my life ). We do our best and know that they will retain some things. I’m doing the same thing with my granddaughters right now – creating memories for us for the future.
