Come Join the N.U.D.E. Celebration at More Cowbell!

It’s National Underwear Day EVERYWHERE in the blogosphere this week. That’s N.U.D.E. for short (huge thanks to Jansen Schmidt for pointing that acronym out cuz it makes me giggle)!

We’ve been honoring the festivities all week here at More Cowbell, culminating in today’s Pimp or Promote N.U.D.E Blog Parade! I just know y’all are gonna be streaking your magnificence across the comments section. (see below for guidelines)

What is a Pimp or Promote N.U.D.E. Blog Parade?

Well, for those of you who are new here, “Pimp or Promote” works like this. Y’all go crazy in the comments section doing one of two things:

  • Pimp out somebody else’s work– this can be a favorite author, blogger, post or book you’ve read, a wonderful teacher or just someone who had profound influence on you as a writer or a person.
    OR
  • Promote one of your projects that you’re excited about – a hobby, a blog, a book, a new direction your work is taking you. You decide. Just tell us all about it in the comments! The rest of us will jump in and “ooooh and coo” at you, and likely promote your project even further (because that’s just how we roll).

I want to hear about what’s exciting in your life today. In fact, feel free to Pimp and Promote, especially if it includes something about Undies, our theme for the week.

On to the N.U.D.E. part… (I know you guys only clicked that link because of it.)

FreshPair is celebrating National Underwear Day officially in New York City next week and it looks like a rarin’ good time.

In their words:

It’s time to uncover underwear—to explore style, fit, and function. In celebration of the 10th anniversary of National Underwear Day, Freshpair wants you to make a change. On August 22nd and 23rd, join Freshpair at 315 West 57th Street in New York City to experience a perfect fit. It’s the way underwear should be. (learn more)

You know where I’d be if I lived anywhere on the East Coast, right?? In fact, Natalie Hartford, August McLaughlin and I have decided we want to ride the float in a Panty Parade next year for N.U.D.E. (Details of our stellar plan can be found here.)

Last but not least, if you go to the FreshPair site, there’s a QUIZ that will not only tell you your undie style, they’ll also send you a $10 coupon off a $50 purchase of FreshPair products. Sweet!

My Undie Style

Who knew, right?? (Perhaps my BFF who picks out all my clothes…)

On to the Pimp or Promote Parade!!

I’m pimping out the stellar bloggers who’ve been filling the Undie-verse with new blog treasure. They’ve been making me laugh, which earns SERIOUS More Cowbell brownie points.

Hopefully they’ll make you laugh too. 🙂

Natalie Hartford added TWO doses of hilarious undie adventures:

Plus, if you look in the sidebar to the right, I had THREE Undie posts this week.

I’m sure there were a few posts that I missed, or that are slipping my tired mind, so feel free to remind me down in the comments so we can all bask in your Undie Creativity.

I can’t wait to see what sort of hijinks y’all have been up to this week…Let’s see some amazing Pimpage and Promotion from you guys!!!

Jenny

I’m a new author that released his debut novel last year, Smite the Damned, as well as performing my normal work duties. I spent a fair amount of time this week working on the sequel, and getting introduced to Cowbell. What a killer blog Jenny! (I think I’ll hurry and take that quiz before the guys on my squad show up)

Pimp and promote, okay…. I’m nearly done with the WIP of the sequel, and in honor of the NUDE celebration, I think I will close my door today and do all of my work on the novel in my undies! 😀 (Can’t wait!)

    Zack…

Thanks Jenny! My undies quiz said I’m an ATHLETIC ADVENTURER:
“You never stop moving throughout the day, so what you’re wearing isn’t nearly as important as how it functions. You know – and seek out – the latest technical fabrics and styles so that you can perform our best. What you’re wearing will always come second to how you look when your clothes come off. You have a zest for life, and clothes are only a small part of that.” 😀

Which I do. Wait! TMI!!! Oh, my eyes!! Hey, you get to be my age, comfort trumps everything!

Jenny, it’s hilarious that I wrote about bras (http://dianabeebe.wordpress.com/2012/08/13/we-figured-that-one-out-a-long-time-ago/) at the time that you published your first post this week.
The entire list of other undie blogs this week have been so much fun to read (and a little too educational in a couple of cases). You guys inspire me!

  4. Hey, Jenny! I usually promote versus pimp on your P&P days, but I happened to do a post last week on events surrounding my first pair of thongs. The Link? You want the link? Jeepers. Since you asked, it’s http://gloriarichard.wordpress.com/2012/08/02/the-thongs-ive-learned-canada/

Off to check out the blogs you mentioned. Toodles!

BTW, I told that sedate Natalie Hartford chick I would forever use Ben-WAHAHAHA in place of Bwa-HAHAHA. Her comment on your hilarious Monday post was too-too funny. Gotta love you guys.

Holy cowbell, Batman…er, Jenny! You’ve started quite an Undie Revolution here! In fact, so much so that you inspired me to add to the collection with my post today: http://kbowenmysteries.com/posts/fashion-friday-corsets/

You guys just crack me up; the comments section is even more fun than the post itself! I can see my Friday productivity going out the window, following all these fab links… 😀

But that’s not really pimpage, right? Let me promote instead. There’s this neat blog (also on Facebook) called “When the Dinner Bell Rings” – but it’s not just recipes; there are all kinds of cool re-purposing ideas for things, cleaning tips, organizational ideas, and so on. http://whenthedinnerbellrings.blogspot.com/

    Have a great weekend, y’all!

      You rock the history posts!

  10. Well, I am Sassy & Fit. And the description fits. So there you have it!

I can’t believe I wasn’t able to get more involved with all this monkey business this time around!

    But.

I would like to announce that I am a cepting guest posts for 2013. (Shuttup, I’m organized!) This year, I’m only featuring one blogger each month and I’m asking people to share stories of when they acted like twits. You know, that time you did something stupid/embarrassing/braggy but where you learned a big ole lesson as a result of your actions and vowed never to do THAT again.

Like wear your panties on a float in NYC? Lol! Jenny, I would love it if you would consider writing for this series! If folks are interested they can contact me via my Contact Info on my blog!

    Thanks Jenny! 🍓

      Welcome to my world. 🙂

And p.s. I’m not WEARING panties on a float. I’m shooting panties out to OTHERS to wear.

  11. I sooooo wish I was going to be in NYC for the FreshPair day of fabulousness! What fun. Well, next year’s panty parade will have to suffice. LOL!!

I took the quiz and I am with Renee – Sassy and Fit. Not sure about the fit part but I’ll take Sassy. And lord knows their undie suggestions were pretty bang on to what I like to wear. Perhaps not so much what hubby likes to see me in…if you know what I mean *wink wink*…but all kind of goodness for me. LOL!!

Everyone I was going to pimp and promote is already listed her. I near died reading Amber’s post on the swimsuit shopping and Kathy’s corset post was uberlicious not to mention Gloria’s post on thongs – had me in giggles! And LOVED August and Julie’s posts. Just such fabulousness across the blogosphere…

Just in case, sort of off topic but did you see Jenny from the Blog’s post on how many vibrators it takes to turn a blogger on? HILARIOUS! http://www.thesuburbanjungle.com/how-many-vibrators-does-it-take-to-satisfy-a-blogger

Thanks for the shout out gorgeous. Here’s to the panty party parade planning for 2013! SQUEEE!

Took the undies quiz, and the survey says: “Julie Glover, you’re Sassy & Fit. You’re blessed with the confidence and figure to make even a paper bag look like couture, but that doesn’t mean you don’t love creating a flirty ensemble. Your style is simple – you can be one of the boys, and a boy’s dream girl, all rolled into one. Your effortless style elicits envy and admiration from all your friends.” Is it true? Are you all envious and admiring? LOL!

Thanks for the shout-out! I’m enjoying the theme. I guess I’ll pimp Christine Ashworth this time, who has recently given me some FAB wine recommendations. Her blog includes giving tips on choosing wines that don’t kill your pocketbook, and her fiction is paranormal romance. Check out her latest post on Wines for Summer here: http://christine-ashworth.com/?p=1368.

LOL! Thanks for filling me in on the NUDE party rocking Twitter. I have no underwear-themed posts to promote, however. (The closest I got this week was recapping Michael Hauge’s RWA workshop for making better romances–which often leads to underwear scenes… 😉 ) But I shall cheer from the sidelines for those in the parade. 🙂

I’m not sure this is entirely accurate because for most of the questions I needed a box to check that says “none of the above.” Oh well, it was fun. Think I’ll take it again and see if I can “find my true self.”

This underwear thing has been a blast. I’ve enjoyed everyone’s posts.
