Magic From the Far Reaches of the Blogosphere

by Kristin Nador from WANA Commons

Keyboards are smoking around the blogosphere this week.

I don’t know if it’s that people are coming from and going to conferences. Perhaps it’s just that summer is hitting it’s zenith. But the posts coming across my desk are magic.

I could have made this post 10 pages long but I thought y’all would throw undies at the screen.

Instead, we’ll do some fantabulous links today and have Pimp or Promote on Friday here at More Cowbell!

Featured post this week

Roni Loren’s very personal and alarming story – Bloggers Beware: You CAN Get Sued For Using Pics On Your Blog – is a must-read for any who photos on their site. My heart breaks for the time, expense and worry she went through.

Here’s a huge THANK YOU to Roni for sharing her experience.

Techie Tuesday Cool Magic

This post makes my techie heart break into song: 7 Best Gadgets and Accessories for the Working Geek by Shaan Haider.

Anne R. Allen’s weekly post always has great stuff. This one – Social Media vs. New York Times Book Review – Which Sells More Books? – had lots of great information.

Writing and Inspirational Magic

This website has given me TONS of research help: http://www.differencebetween.net/. Whether it’s the difference between words or foods, or even business terms, this place is CrackleSauce!

Renee Schuls-Jacobson shares How My Son Discovered the Opposite Sex – what a sweet nostalgic post this was for me!

Plot: You MUST Be Brutal by Darcy Pattison was a great reminder for me to be even meaner to my characters.

The Bipolar Writer from Keith Cronin at Writer Unboxed had me laughing at Paragraph 1.

Ally Carter’s post — A Letter to Baby Author Me — made me sit down and really think of what I want for my writing. That’s always a great thing. 🙂

Blogs That Made Me Tinkle a Bit

Funny stuff! Emmie Mears and I share a love of Damn You Autocorrect and she sent me this post called Hotter than Hell.

This post and it’s accompanying video made me cry with laughter. It illustrates (in a completely NOT suitable for work way) the dangers of auto-correct on phones. Set down your drink before you listen to this guy sing “auto-correct” in his little accent. LMAO!

My favorite tweet so far this month

I have learned to use the word ‘impossible’ with the greatest caution. ~Wernher von Braun via @IamPramit @LUKIKA @Awannabeangel

What’s rocking your world right now? Any new sources to share? Enquiring minds LOVE to know these things here at More Cowbell!

Love the auto-correct song! A girl I worked with (back when I USED to work! Hahahaha!) found a website with samples of disasterous auto corrects. We giggle-peed our way through that day!

  2. Wow Jenny! *blushes* I was just coming to read your blog! Thanks for the mention. He’s at summer camp right now? Can you imagine what he is doing? Probably playing his first game of spin the bottle. No. Probably not. I love the new WANA Commons and tossed some pictures up there the other day. Poor Roni. How lucky we are that she was willing to share he story so that we might all better protect ourselves.

  5. eehh gad! loving the auto-erotic… I mean, auto-correct 😉 And I have been using clipart.com as my source for graphics and photos. It is a subscription service, but when you realize how many posts you do in a year, having access to all that stuff, it’s worth it. Hi Jenny!
