Magic of the Blog-o-sphere…A Techie Tuesday Gift

From iPadWallpaper.net

All month long, whenever I get intrigued or mesmerized by the magic of a post, I add it to a draft post called Links That Rock My World. When the list gets big, I share it with y’all.

It’s been a while…mostly because I’ve been sick and busy catching up from that. However, in honor of Techie Tuesday, here’s all the magic I’ve jotted down for you in the last several weeks.

Note: If you’ve seen me commenting on your blog or tweeting out your posts, I already think you’re magic. I’m looking to introduce you to some new fun places.

Without further ado, I’ll start by taking a page out of Gene Lempp’s book with a Featured Posts area.

You pretty much cannot go wrong with any post from Janice Hardy – I learn SO much from her blog, The Other Side of the Story. It’s definitely one I recommend you subscribe to. To give you an example, here’s one of her latest that deals with my Achilles’ heel: Moving Forward – Writing Smooth Transitions.

Laughter and Inspirational Magic:

  • No one ties movies together with life questions better than Marcy Kennedy. Here’s a great example: Should Some Questions Go Unanswered?
  • You know I love me some potty humor and very few do it better than my pal, Natalie Hartford on her Urban Word Wednesdays. The comments section is nearly always almost as good as the post. Last week’s gem? Fartability. You really need to read it to understand.

Writing Magic:

Publishing Magic:

Social Media Magic:

(Can you tell Pinterest is on my “Fascinating Tools to Master” list??)

Food Magic:

  • I’ve been doing a ton of experimenting with Gluten Free cooking now that I’ve determined that I am completely gluten intolerant (how did I not know this my whole life??) – this recipe from Kait Nolan’s site rocked our world at Chez Hansen: Bacon Cheddar Biscuits.
  • Speaking of GF cooking, Hubby and I were discussing Thanksgiving because it’s going to be challenging to do it with no gluten in sight so I need to start practicing. I just found a recipe for Green Bean Casserole (including the fried onions) that is gluten free and cassein free. If anyone has any stuffing recipies that are gluten-free, please send them my way!

OK, there’s NINETEEN links from me to you on this fine Techie Tuesday. Who can give me #20?? What are the standout posts that have come across your screen lately? Fill me in on the latest and greatest excitement in your corner of the blog-o-verse. Enquiring minds always want to know here at More Cowbell!

Jenny

p.s. In case y’all get shy on me, here’s a potential Link #20…I’m pimping out my courses at WANA International. The first one starts this week, with either the 1 hour webinar on Triberr (includes a manual) OR the one week extravaganza where you take the webinar PLUS I hold your hand through all the ins and outs of navigating the program and managing tribes.

Triberr is a way to save time and boost your blog to a whole new level. There will be one Triberr and one LinkedIn class every month all summer long! My first round of courses can be found at http://www.wanaintl.com/instructor-jenny-hansen/.

  2. Brilliant links, Jenny. I really needed those writing transition tips too. And yum, I want to try the Bacon Cheddar Biscuits too. You could dedicate a whole post to Chez Hansen gluten free cooking 🙂 I’m sure that others than me would appreciate your food plans for Thanksgiving.

My Link #20 suggestion is a sneak peek from my tomorrow’s Link Feast post. I love Sarah Hoyt’s blog because her posts are personal, deep and she has a great voice. Like Kristen Lamb, Kait Nolan and Holly Lisle, she doesn’t mince her words.

I will check out Sarah Hoyt…thanks, Reetta! I just might do a post on GF cooking (and Thanksgiving in particular). It makes me so sick that I really need to be sure to get it right so I can EAT on that day. 🙂

A gluten free Thanksgiving is easy and delicious. We have been doing it for so many years, that it is hard to remember. I don’t have the recipes at hand now, but i will write down the name of the MUST HAVE gluten free cookbook and post it for you. I also have a pie crust recipe that is to die for. Even the people who can eat gluten say they’d pick it over regular pie crust. Oh, and don’t get me started on the sweet potato biscuits. Yum!

Great set of links. After clicking on the Triberr link, I am in a contemplative mood regarding Triberr. What are your thoughts about it? Has your advocation of Triberr changed?

My thoughts are Triberr are still very positive, when used the WANA way. I can understand Dee being upset with those who spam, and I absolutely don’t blame her for the rant. We should never, ever take the social out of media.

Triberr used responsibly is still one of the best tools around for:

      1. Supporting your fellow bloggers
      2. Saving time
      3. Increasing your Klout score and social media presence.

THanks for the links, Jenny. MIssed some of these. Can you give us a summary of what the WANA way is for Triberr? To me, it’s simply tweeting the links and trying to add something with hashtags or whatever. Thanks!

Hey there, Miz Stacy! I talk about this more in my webinars but basically, the WANA way is one of service and community, not just tweeting out links at all hours of the day and night for posts when we’ve not interacted with people (i.e. spamming).

You interact plenty so I don’t think you have anything to worry about. 🙂

Okay, good. I try to do that, but I haven’t been great with Twitter the last 6 weeks or so. Been nose down finishing a book. Plan on bettering the conversation after vacation (lol at my lame rhyme).

  10. I’m gluten intolerant, too, but I use holidays as an excuse to eat my heart out, preferably on a giant biscuit filled with stuffing. Fantastic links!
