Videos like this make me miss having a dog. There’s just nothing like a nice big loving dog to cuddle…except maybe a baby. I’ve watched the video below like five times – the dog just looks so proud of itself at the end!
How To Hug A Baby:
I’ll get back to more serious stuff here at Risky Baby Business next week, but for a holiday weekend, I just wanted to give you a quick smile. To add to your smiles, here’s a picture of my first “baby girl,” Hoshi.
Do you get as into dogs and babies as I do? Feel free add links to other pets and babies in the comments section! You get serious points if you include a link to a photo that includes both. 🙂

I wish I had a digital copy to link to of when my best friend brought her daughter to meet my horse. It was her very first time seeing an animal that large and her eyes were as big as saucers. She didn’t know whether to giggle or hide when she got snuffled. It was absolutely adorable. I’ve always wished we took a video of it, but that was years ago before either of us owned a camera or phone with a video option.

I’d love to see that too, Marcy! What a sweet moment. And I didn’t know you had a horse!!! How cool is that?

Love babies, love dogs, even have a grand-dogder.
So why do I have 2 cats?

Because cats are pretty, and you’re probably not allergic to them like I am! 🙂

Love my two babies, I hug and squeeze them all day long. I grew up with dogs and can not wait until our family adopts our first dog. Our plan is to wait until the youngest is out of diapers. Cross your fingers he figures out the potty soon, cause momma is getting antsy. Until a puppy comes home to us we have yoda and he is the sweetest smartest kitty I know.

I think that is a fantastic plan. We’re don’t plan to get a dog until Baby Girl is in kindergarten or so. I want her to remember it and help as much as a kid that age can. (We’ll see if I last that long!)
p.s. I love the name Yoda for a kitty.

Excellent plan. Kids are a lot a work and so are pets; they deserve our time and attention too. I’m hopeful our oldest will be ready to help when the day comes.
Yoda’s ears are the same size now as the day I met him almost 13-yrs ago 🙂

It worked this time–oh, sweet. I’ve seen those pix/captions below but not in a video. That mastiff looks positively delighted! (so does the baby)

Love the pic of Hoshi, but I don’t see a link to the video. I’ll send a pic link when I can – I’ve got plenty of cute baby pics, but no dogs, sadly (we’re allergic).
Happy Easter, Jenny!

Happy Easter to you too!

This is hilarious and sweet! But the photo after the video, although cute, made me squeal, “Yikes!!!” 🙂

You said “Yikes!” over my Hoshi? She was the sweetest lil’ 90 pound lapdog you ever saw. 🙂

Look at the cute pooches!!! I am not a dog person, really.. I have been bitten a few times and so I am a little apprehensive around them. But I do think they are so adorable.
Love this post, Jenny.

Darlene, I’ll tell you…when I met my Hubby, he was deathly afraid of dogs (he’d been chased and nipped at prior). But he and Hoshi had a love at first sight thing. She would bowl me over to get to him and that’s his lap she’s on. Some dogs just have “it.”
Thanks for taking time to leave a comment. 🙂

OMG! So adorable! I”m done having babies, but not dogs 🙂 We’re on a waiting list for a mastiff puppy now. Love our half-mastiff rescue but she really needs a playmate and we want to make sure we get the mastiff personality with our 6 yr. old twins, they are just giant lovebugs! Thanks for sharing this!

Hee! That video was awesome. Those are some trusting parents. Not that I think the dog would intentionally hurt the baby, but he was awfully big, and I know how rambunctious my girl gets.
Since you specifically asked for links to dogs, here’s the link to my D post which was about Doggie DNA. I’m having a contest for people to guess the breeds of my family’s dogs. There are no babies in the pictures, but since the dogs ARE our babies, does that count? 🙂
