B is for #Blogging Party! (And what the heck is the #AtoZchallenge?)

Holy Cowbell, yesterday was the start of my blogiversary month! (Yes, we’re partying all month.)

First off, I want to say THANK YOU to all of you!

Without you, hanging out here and providing thought-provoking conversation and hilarity in the comments section, I can guarantee you there would be no More Cowbell. Y’all humble me and make me grateful every day that I launched this blog and got on social media.

The More Cowbell Posse is going strong.

Blogging here at More Cowbell helped me find my writing voice, plain and simple. Every one of your visits and comments helped me along that journey.

A thousand times…THANK YOU.

(I’m stopping before the waterworks start.)

What else is on the party calendar this week?

  • Yesterday was the start of the A to Z Blog Challenge. A is for Arghhh because I missed it, but y’all can hop on the #AtoZchallenge train until tonight – just click the link above or the handy badge I put on my sidebar to get the deets. You must post a LOT for this and I’m such a joiner, I had  to jump on the train. (It was Roni Loren’s fault!)
  • Today is the start of Round 2 of ROW80! Have you started working on your goals? Click here to add yourself to the Linky for Round 2.
  • Wednesday, April 4th is the 2nd ROCK THE ROW  Twitter Party! From 12:01 am EST to 11:59 pm, we’ll be partying at #ROW80 on Twitter? Lena Corazon and Barbara McDowell are hostessing this bash, and I told them I want to be in the middle of them for the Cupid Shuffle. Their theme is “Throwback Party”….SQUEEE!!

Other party action this week was lunch at Downtown Disney with the ever-fabulous, Tameri Etherton. It was her birthday week and I was so happy to see her! It was Baby Girl’s first time there so we HAD take her to the Disney Store. We had a blast watching her discover fountains and I can’t wait to see Tameri’s blog on the trip! 🙂

Note: You can’t see it in the photo below but I’m hanging on to the back of Baby Girl’s shirt to keep her from plummeting into the fountain…you can just  see the edge of her butt to my right.

Update on the Vlog

This weekend, I walked all around my house and garden with our videocam, gathering footage for the vlog I promised you.

I got all snazzied up – make-up, hair, new YouTube account. Check, check, check! Then when my wonderful (and slightly hungover) Hubby went to go upload the footage, we realized we need a super-special power plug that came with the camera to get the files.

Do we know where it is??? Nope! I’ve got fun stuff for you…and no way to deliver it until Hubby tears apart the office. It could be DAYS.

In the short term, I bring you the original Kings of Cowbell: Christopher Walken and Will Farrell:

What’s on your party and/or blogging agenda for the week? Are any of you who tried Round 1 of ROW80 going to jump back in for Round 2? Who’s dancing in the conga line with me at the ROCK THE ROW Throwback Party?? Enquiring minds must  know these things here at More Cowbell!

  1. Loved it, Jenny! How did you get those guys to feature your blog in their musical repertoire? Very impressive!

I know!!! I was so excited that Will Farrell could really “use his studio space” like that on MY blog. You’ve gotta love the way he rocks that hideous 70’s shirt… 🙂

  2. I’m beginning the month with a new crit group. Super excited about that. Mostly, I’m spending this month clearing the decks and prepping for new things in May, and taking what I hope will be an intensive online course. Lots to do!

Lisa, that is exciting (and a little nerve-wracking). A critique group ends up being like a marriage and a good one is GOLD. What a great month you have in store for you!

Sounds like a FUN time this month at Casa Cowbell! Great job on the stats, too – woot, woot, Jenny! Looking forward to our swap, and don’t forget – you’re got some scenes to organize, so get busy, girlie!

I’m working hard on the post swap. Got three screen shots today and I’m trying to organize my fave features for OneNote. I can already tell this will end up being a multi-part series. Lots of awesome-ness in there!

And with the way April and May are so busy, I am cursing you and your tag!! (But I’ll thank you later. 🙂 )

Yeah, sorry about that. I definitely got the easier end of the cowbell, LOL. Let me know if there’s anything else I can do – a second guest post, or whatever. Thanks!

Congrats on your one year! *throws confetti* And sorry about tempting you with the A to Z challenge, lol. Isn’t it so hard to resist those darn challenges? I think I’m half insane for signing up because beyond being on a deadline extension for my book, I’m going to be gone for a week at the Romantic Times convention. So we’ll see if I make it through the challenge, lol.

Well, it’s not out of the realm, with the way we use our blogging as morning pages, to think we have 26 blogs a month in us. I usually do about 20-24 already. I’m bummed to not have RT here in California this year so I can drive up to see you. If there is any chance you’ll be at the Anaheim RWA, please let me know!!!

  7. Woot! Way fab stats for your year of blogging, Jenny! You are a rock star! Good luck with the A to Z fun.

For me, attended a fab local writers conference on Saturday and am newly inspired. I’m kicking off the week with retooled, up the ante ROW80 goals. This includes serving as a sponsor this round. Squee! As co-host for the fab party, I’ll be spinning tunes into the wee hours of the night. I hope everyone is ready to get rowdy.

Working on my lean-back bounce right now for the Cupid Shuffle. *Down, down do your thing..* When I hear the first notes of that song, I’m up and ready to dance. I will HAVE to do that as a midday break at work on Wednesday. Yes, I’ll close the office door. 🙂

Those stats blew my mind a bit too. I thought about holding them back and then I thought, “No…we all made those stats together. They should be shared with the team.”

I SAW your goals and I’m so excited for you!!! Did you click the Cupid Shuffle link above to do a practice run in your office?? They’ve got a new (to me) move called the “Fred Sanford.” It is freaking hilarious.

We’ve GOT to get Lena and do the Fred Sanford together on Wednesday!

      Like

      • Did I click the link? Oh yeah I did! And the Fred Sanford was new to me too. LOVED THAT! I also love how he started alone then brought in his peeps to dance. We’ll be doing several rounds of the C Shuffle on Wednesday. Never gets old. I’m also partial to the Booty Call. That is a little older, but still fun dance for folks to get frisky. *scampers off to consider themes for the different party rooms*

I’ve seen a ton of rockstar talent hit the scene from Kristen’s WANA classes and I can’t wait to see where we’re all at long-term.
