A Plethora of “Naked” Links To Rock Your World

30 Rock - Naked Writers via AOLTV.com

Last Friday, I did a guest post about “getting naked” on your blog. Yep, I talked about just stripping it all off and hanging your naked passion out for the world.

There’s magic in being authentic.

All month long, whenever I get intrigued or mesmerized by the magic of a post, I add it to a draft post called Links That Rock My World. When the list gets big, I share it with all of you!

Without further ado, here’s all the magic I’ve jotted down for you since the beginning of the year. Note: If you’ve seen me commenting on your blog, I already think you’re magic. I’m looking to introduce you to some new fun places. 🙂

I’ll start by taking a page out of Gene Lempp’s book with a Featured Posts area.

I love a great mashup as much as the next writer. That being said, there are two that I try never to miss each week: Gene Lempp’s Saturday Blog Treasures and Elizabeth Craig’s Sunday Twitterific. You cannot go wrong spending your weekends with these two!

I’ve got to save this one. So many links, so little time. Going to check out Icarus and My Fear of the Sun. Mama told me not to look at the sun, but that’s where the fun is.

Any mash-up where I send one link to a group I belong to work (Pinterest marketing) and save one for my files (Making your website ‘sticky’) is a SUPER one!

    Thanks, Jenny!

The ones I’ve read lately that I’ve given the most thought to over the past month or so are:
Kristen Lamb’s Bracing for Impact: The Future of Big Publishing in the New Paradigm (http://warriorwriters.wordpress.com/2012/02/15/bracing-for-impact-the-future-of-big-publishing-in-the-new-paradigm/). This really made me think about where book publishing is going and where it should go.
Nicole Basaraba’s Writing in Different Genres series (http://universecityblog.wordpress.com/2012/01/25/writing-in-different-genres-a-blog-series/). She has invited various writers to blog about their particular area.
    Great stuff, Jenny! Thanks.

Wow, Jenny! What a great list! And thanks so much for putting mine in there, too, LOL. I loved Roni’s “sticky” blog post when she first wrote it – I’ve got it bookmarked to try some of the tips when I have time.

Oh, and another great place for a laugh is ironicmom.com – Leanne is always super-funny!

  8. Wasn’t that story at the Blogess just the most hilarious? I kind of want to hang out with her now, but I’m afraid she’ll get us arrested. Well, that might not be so bad since we’d be laughing our butts off the whole time.

Yikes, I’ve got five new windows open for posts I need to read… I’m supposed to be editing!

Thanks for including me in the mashup! And the metal chicken story still makes me laugh. That would be a move my husband would pull.

OMG, your husband sounds like a riot, Roni! I laugh every time I see the Beyonce Chicken story and also her post where she asks her hubby to “smell her eyeballs.” The Bloggess kills me.

My hubs was driving me crazy a while back singing an old 80s hair band song (Don’t Treat Me Bad). It wouldn’t get out of my head so I threatened his life to get him to stop singing it. Two days later, I’m in the kitchen and all of a sudden I hear that song playing. I had no idea where it was coming from and it was on a loop. I searched high and low and finally found hubs laptop tucked in the back of a bottom cabinet, with the damn song cued up on repeat. He’s lucky I didn’t stick his laptop in the oven. 🙂

I read this to my husband and he LOVED it. I can’t believe your honey can carry a practical joke that far. He’s got the stuff, Roni!

p.s. You’d have hated the smell of a burned laptop – it’s a good thing you restrained yourself!
