#ROW80 Mid-Week Check-in and a FAB Video!

*******************

What could be better for a mid-week ROW80 Check-in than watching Kristen Lamb’s FIRST V-LOG?! Thasss right…Social Media Jedi Master, Kristen – fearless, fresh and in the flesh.

Plus, this is my very first Re-Blog EVER. If you ever want to do this, it’s easy.

  1. You both must be WordPress sites
  2. Go to the target site you wish to Reblog and click into the post you want
  3. On the toolbar up top (where you usually see your  name to the right), click “Reblog”
  4. Enter a short intro (which will show up BELOW the Reblogged excerpt)
  5. On your own site, Edit the post to add in other nifty-ness

Enjoy your new “Reblogging Raucousness!”

When you’re done checking that v-log out, click here to cheer on your other ROW-mates. You’ll be glad you did!

Have a great Hump-Day!
Jenny

Kristen Lamb's Blog

Hey, there! I know it’s only Tuesday, but today I am doing something a little different. I know that I’m tough with you guys about trying new things. What is it I say? “Nothing great happens in the comfort zone.” Wait. I probably poached that off NYTBSA Bob Mayer. Anyway, the sentiment remains. We don’t grow when we are comfortable, and trust me when I say that vlogging was NOT at all comfortable. And I am TOTALLY bummed that the editing process cut off my T-shirt that said “Geek Chic.” Sigh. What is the point of dressing up if no one can see your fancy clothes?

Oh well.

One thing I’ve always tried to impress upon you guys is that I am not above my own advice, and I will never ask anything from y’all that I am unwilling to do as well. So this is my first vlog, and there…

well thanks for that – first shaky day back on feet after being ill and a blast of fun and fresh air – I follow Kristen of course but have never heard her – great stuff – and now I dont need to ask what #wana means:)
have started studying what you all do with the retweeting when I noticed how you were retweeting my blogs – wana was the one I was going to ask about – will try and make my retweeting as good
not altogether sure I’m ready for video blogging tho’!!:)

Alberta, you can always ask stuff like that. All us WANA Alumni are delighted to share. 🙂

I don’t know if I’m ready for the VLogging as yet, but if I know Kristen, she’ll hound me until I do it. 59 takes and 6 hours later, you’ll all have a vlog. LOL.

  2. Way cool idea, Jenny. That’s both a great way to add some fresh content to your blog, and it’s a way to pay it forward. Sort of like retweeting, only better! And yes, Kristin is a social media Jedi. May the force be with us all.

  3. Video blogging is great. I’m commenting now JUST IN CASE my laptop freezes up (again!) on a video.

Thanks for the clarification on re-blogging, Jenny. What a concept! Is it proper etiquette to secure permission before re-blogging? I assume it would be, because the original blogger may want to check and respond to comments on my site.

Skipping off to start a list of blog I follow that may be fodder for reblog.

SQUEE! The possibilities! Okay. Now, I’ll post the comment and cross my fingers the video won’t freeze Huey P. Ackard.

How sweet are you, Gloria?! I’ll just say here and now, y’all are welcome to Reblog any of my stuff – just tag me in Twitter so I know to come scope your comments. Having not been re-blogged yet, I’m not clear on whether you get a pingback or what.

You know that once *I* know, *you’ll* know!

Cool, Jenny! Kristen’s braver than I am. I’d be worried there was spinach stuck in my teeth, LOL. Thanks for the re-blogging tips!

    Happy Leap Day,

I’m with you, Kathy! I’d be doing take after take and driving my husband insane. At the end of the day, the only way I’d get through it would be for it to be like teaching class. That I can do. 🙂

It’s kind of fun that Leap Day happended on Hump Day, isn’t it? Just think of all the hijinks we can get up to over that!!

  8. Agh! Tameri’s comment totally made my brain freeze. What was I going to say?!?! LOL (She’s RIGHT, by the way…) I may vlog at some point, though I by far prefer writing. Stoked about Kristen’s new series. Thanks for the great re-blogging pointers!

  9. Girl, I did the re-blogging thing (sort of) myself today. I’m so impressed with myself. Not that I did it, but that I shared a similar idea with you. That’s just super cool, ‘cuz you’re super smart blogger.

Loved Kristen’s vlog. Haven’t seen one like that where it’s broken up in pieces. Think it’s a great tool for her.

  11. I like adding video into the content mix. A good mix of content types that fits what you’re communicating is what I preach to clients (I work at an integrated content marketing agency)! Not sure I’m going to jump on camera yet, though…I don’t want everyone to see my dirty house, or my naughty cats, who will inevitably ruin a few hundred takes. 🙂

    Yay Wednesday check-in!

  14. Vlogging? Hmm. I’m just trying to get over blogging. I think I’ll leave that up to the professionals, like you and Kristen!

But hyjacking a blog. It that legal? That sound too much like stealing to me. Could we be put into blogging prison or something? Are there blogging police lerking and checking our blogs out there?

I like the comment above about asking first. Call me old fashioned Jenny, but I think it is the polite thing to do. To ask first I mean. Just sayin’. 🙂
