Well, NaNo-Mania is behind most everyone, but I kind of missed a lot of the November Frenzy that I love. There was flu, cold and that special brand of torture called pleurisy that sucked up most of my month.
While I LOVED getting to see all my pals crossing the finish line for NaNoWriMo, I want to see more progress for myself.
So I’m observing National Novelist Slack-Ass Month, lovingly dubbed NaNoSlackMo. During all of December, I’ll be working toward the other 25,000 words that I missed in November.
Anyone else who also missed out, or just wants to continue riding the wave with us (at a much slower holiday pace) is welcome to join me. I think a NaNoSlackMo hashtag might be in order!
I’m all fired up about it…how about you?
Whether you’re going to take a page out of my fellow Life List Club member’s book and do 500 words a day or you want to try doing for the whole 50K enchilada, I hope you achieve your goals during this final stretch of ROW80‘s Round 4 between now and December 22nd.
I’m looking forward to a Sunday with plenty of writing and plenty of cheering for my fellow Team Row80 members. If you would also like to cheer your teammates on, click here.
Did you see that Kait did a blog with prizes for the winners of the Rockin’ The Row Photo Contest??? There were scads of prizes…it was very exciting. I hope you go over there and give the winners a dose of love.
Now, who will be joining me for word sprints during NaNoSlackMo??
Jenny
I’m in.

That’s the spirit, Mike and Callene…we’ve still got some writing to do. 🙂

I’m in! November was too crammed for me to even make a legit attempt at NaNo, but I’d love a chance at redemption!

My co-writer and I are trying to finish our novel in time to pitch it at a conference in January so we didn’t do NaNo, but we’re definitely pushing ahead right now at a break-neck pace. I don’t know if we still have 25,000 words to finish, but we’ll be there in spirit with everyone who’s following you into NaNoSlackMo 🙂

Marcy, I don’t thing the total matters as much as the spirit so RIGHT ON! #NaNoSlackMo sprinting is in our future. 🙂

Yay, Jenny! What a great idea! I’m still in the character-planning stages of novel #2, but I could always use a word sprint for blog posts…
Good luck with NaNoSlackMo – I’ll bet it catches on!

I’m definitely in, Jenny. I can be a slackass with the best of them, LOL.
Pleurisy totally bites, you poor thing. I have the cold/flu that will not end, but it’s a lot better than pleurisy. *shudder*
Take care of yourself!

Yes, pleurisy sucks big noogies, but I’m delighted to know you’ll be slacking and writing with the rest of us. 🙂
And what is UP with that stupid bionic cold???

What was it Yoda said? There is no try, only do. Way to go, Jenny.
December was supposed to be ReadMoBookMo for me, but I’m still wrestling with revisions. And wrapping tape.

Yep, packing tape is us at our place too. But I’m gonna make some time for word sprints too. 🙂

Why not? The story is the reason everyone got into NaNo. If just one person gets their work published it would be worth it. Rock on.

Thanks, Tom! And I say, “Hell YES!” And why shouldn’t it be you?? 🙂

Count me in. I didn’t participate in NaNo…so now it’s time to redeem myself. I gotta get crakin’ on book two! Go NaNoSlackMo!! (I wish I had thought to count how many words I wrote today, so I can count them!).

I didn’t know NaNoSlackMo was only a month. I thought being a slackass was an everyday thing. Huh. Well, I love this idea and will embrace it wholeheartedly.
Here’s hoping December sees 31 healthy days for you and all of 2012 while we’re at it! Pleurisy might sound like fun, but it’s not. Kick that freaking pleurisy to the curb!

LMAO!!! How funny is this comment. I promise that if the wave picks up steam, we can have other #NaNoSlackMo’s…promise. Thanks for the laugh!

Had a big smile while reading your blog entry here. Although I did finish NaNoWriMo I know the frustration. I did have the flu and had a crazy month in every way so I almost weren’t able to finish either. And… I could write a lot more pages as well so I think I’m going to join you! Even if this month will probably be even crazier than November lol.
Enjoy your #NaNoSlackMo 😀

NaNoSlackMo is hilarious. I’m sorry you had such a rough November. I was all wondering what happened to you…apparently I should have checked your blog!! I’m glad you’re bouncing back. My Nano goal was reached but it’s unfinished and an utter mess that I’m soooo excited about. I have LOTS more work to do so I’m all in for SlackMo!! Can’t wait to sprint with you!! Have a great week, Jenny!

Yep, Lauren, I was in bed for 2-3 weeks, and quite unhappy about it! The blog backup I built up for NaNo came in VERY handy. 🙂
I’m so proud of all you guys. Come finish and refine that book with us “slackers.” We need people like you to class us up a little. LOL…
