A Much-Needed Day Of Rest – A Recap of Our First Row80 Party

Oooh, mama, did we party yesterday!! Lena Corazon, Susie Lindau and Barbara McDowell were chatterboxing with me over at #ROW80 all the way to 12:15 am EST TODAY.

There were snacks…(yep, that sure is a lava lamp!)

Cupcakes, cream cake and lemon bars…

Wacky outfits – would you look at those leopard pants (and notice the ‘fro)?

Dancing galore…Everything from the Party Rock Shuffle to The Hustle.

Some people were tentative:

Others were…um…exuberant:

Baby Girl wondered WHAT on Earth mommy was up to…

And finally, after it was all over and
the last drink finished…the final videos watched…
we climbed off the tables where we proved,
beyond a shadow of a doubt,
that Team ROW80 does indeed “have back”…

I channeled my “inner Shakira” with a sugar high and some sassy GOLD FRINGE!

Give me a few days and I’ll be calmed down enough to rock some #ROW80 goals, judge some party contests and focus on check-ins and regular posts.

Tomorrow is Life List Friday, which means THREE things are gonna happen:

  • I’m going to post the winners of my Life List Club Milestone contest – 1 to a commenter and 1 to a subscriber. The winner will have their choice between a guest post from me on their site, or an interview here on More Cowbell.
  • I’ll be guest blogging at our newest member’s site, GaryGauthier!
  • Violeta Nedkova (aka Lyn Midnight) will be here at More Cowbell. 🙂

What a great time we’re having this week, huh?

Have you ever been to a Twitter party? Did you go to the Rock The Row party yesterday? Did you submit all the photos and blog posts to where Nicole and I can find them for the judging process (which will occur next week)? Were there any songs, conversations or moments that you particularly enjoyed and would like to share? Enquiring minds always want to know at More Cowbell!

I was so excited about the party and I missed it. I’m glad it was fun, though — do I sound pouty?

You do sound pouty, but I understand. I woulda been bummed to miss it too. We did decide that it would need to be an annual thing.

Actually, I said “annual” and that Party Animal, Nicole, said “what about after every round.” (Crazy youngsters.)

Meant to say more. I haven’t been to a twitter party but I did do a twitter pitchfest — that was crazy.

So much fun! Thanks for putting it all together. Do you need help cleaning up? Because I’m sure some of those other ROW80ers would be glad to pick up all the confetti!

Now that was a PARTY! Wow. I was sorry to sign off at 8:30 my time…lol…sounds like the party went well into the late evening. You guys are rock stars! 🙂
That was my first ever twitter party and I enjoyed myself thoroughly. Thankfully the hangover wasn’t near as bad as the one I had last weekend – phew – couldn’t have taken that. I ate too much, laughed too hard, got a wee bit obnoxious – HUGE success from my perspective. LOL. Can’t wait for the next one…
For me, my favorite part was engaging in hilarious twitter convos with a pile of people (new and old twitter friends). Often, I can get caught up in just posting links and stuff of interest but this was a ton more fun cause we were connecting and laughing together. I was honest-to-God laughing out loud at some of the comments. It just really rocked and made me feel even MORE a part of this blogging/twitting/writing community.
    Gosh…I am welling up…sniff…
I just love you all! :-))
Thanks for all your hard work and time invested Jenny (and Nicole)! You totally made my day (and evening)!!

      Natalie,

I’m so glad you enjoyed the party – laughing and getting obnoxious is a huge part of it.

My fave part of Twitter is the camaraderie and the information. We get to meet amazing people that we’d never come across in real life. Nicole and I get to throw a party that spans two continents. And we get to laugh our guts out at kitties in lampshades and my wacky party afro.

  7. The party was AWESOME!!! We totally rocked and I have to agree with Natalie, there were definitely lots of laugh out loud moments.

I got a running list of photo and blog entries. Jenny, we will have to compare notes. 🙂

Oh, I’m sooo glad one of us is organized! I’ll get my act together on mine tomorrow and over the weekend so we can start posting for Sun/Mon. THANK YOU for being such a great co-host, and for having the amazing idea in the first place. 🙂

  9. I was in and out but it looked like a blast. Youngest beastie boy, beastie girl, and I danced ourselves into a pile on the living room floor with Dancing Queen 🙂

All I want to know is where I can get a pair of those leopard pants?! Yes!!!

Those are smoking hot, aren’t they? We have a store here in Orange County called Flashbacks with all kinds of trippy items from several eras and I got them there. You can bet I keep them in a safe place to “whip out” when we have a necessary event.

  11. You mean we aren’t taking the party through the weekend? 🙂

Way to go Jenny and Nicole for hosting a rocking party!!! Huge effort and you made everyone feel welcome. That was my first Twitter party and after running around getting sugared up on the cupcakes and cake, hearing the rumor Prince was there and running to tackle him, then diving for some special punch–the dancing was fantastic! I woke up by the speakers around 1:30 am. Yes, I got a little rowdy.

I agree that it was cool to kick back and converse with people and see their pics. It was a great sense of community and support as people also posted check-ins and details about what they had going on in work and family life. Way cool.

Yeah, you got rowdy! I still can NOT believe you tackled Prince. The poor man’s only like 5 feet tall.

I’m stickig with you next time we meet at conference. Thanks for adding to the party. I had tons of fun and I’m glad you did too! 🙂
