It’s been that kind of week. My best friend’s mama is dying and I’m doing what there is to do (which never feels like enough). It’s all cooking, visiting and listening. And worrying.
I’ve got the blogs scheduled, don’t you worry (I REALLY like tomorrow’s blog) but I’m behind on:
- Posting my Life List Club Goals
- Completing my Work in Progress writing
- Starting my new workout plan (more on this tomorrow)
On the up side, we had our “Let’s Meet Up” Webinar Friday and had soooo much fun. I’ll be covering the highlights in Tuesday’s Techie post.
Your comments always make the day brighter – I love hearing from you! Tell me about how your writing goals are going. What are you up to this week, in writing and otherwise? Have you posted a great blog that the rest of need to hear about? Enquiring minds always want to know at More Cowbell!
Jenny
Sad to hear about your friends mother, but at least she has someone caring to be there for her during this difficult time.
Life happens, Jen, be flexible rather then frustrated and do what you can.
By the way, Bill the Cat is one of my all-time favorite comic characters. Great choice.

Sorry about your friend’s mother. That’s never an easy situation. Nothing you can do can ease the pain, but being there for her is the best gift you can offer.
Don’t worry about missing some goals. Being there for your friend is the most important thing.

Awwwwwwwwwww…crappiocca happens. But anything that you do to help your friend is a blessing to her, just being there helps. Just makes us crazy (always) that we can’t do more.
Love Bill the Cat–may have to abscond with that prayer! I’ve been head-down HTML-ing on the puppies site and just added 7 more articles this weekend, but behind on blogs and friction WIP. I’m using several of the shortcuts you gave us in the webinar–THANKS!

I’m with you, Amy. I did a hell of a lot of cooking this weekend, so I know there wasn’t much more help to provide. Plus Baby Girl was just on fire – a major ray of sunshine.
Isn’t Bill the Cat a riot? I’m with Gloria that THIS was a Serenity Prayer that I could get behind!!
Sooo glad the shortcuts helped. Did any of the code areas in the Options prove helpful?

Ah, Jenny. SO sorry to hear about your friend’s mom. You’re the kind of friend we all cherish — someone who will “high five” (or, Hellooo, six pack!) when times are good, but be there with chicken soup, a box of tissues, and a helping hand when times are tough.
LOVE your version of the Serenity Prayer. I can memorize that instead of the original in a third language. It’s a gift that keeps on giving all year long. Others quote lines from artsy or classic movies. Me? Christmas or chick flicks. And, Kevin Costner’s line about kissing in Bull Durham.
On the writing (techie) side I’m now an official TWIT. I made a wonderful connection at SBUX on Friday to help with my author brand, website, blog, facebook.
Official TWIT @gloriawrites will tweet on Tuesday about a guest blog on Romance & Beyond.
Take care of your friend, your family and yourself. Thinking about you and sending (in Margie-speak) cyberhugs your way.

I’m so sorry to hear about your friend’s mama. She and her mama are in my prayers. It’s good she has a friend like you that cares.

I told her to try to flit over here and see all the love for her. Every bit of that helps when you’re losing your mama.

Your friend would be alright. She has you. The living grieves more than the person who died. Meanwhile, the dead is in the safest place she will ever be and is no longer suffering. Her mother’s death isn’t goodbye. It’s ” ’til we meet again”. 🙂
On a lighter note, I did enjoy the MS Word. It’s so informative and helpful.

It’s far more important that you support your friend right now than meet goals. I’m sorry for her situation, but I also know that friends like you help at times like these.
I love Bill the Cat–given my day job, I really love the percentages! My writing is going pretty well. It is a slightly chilly pool on a muggy afternoon–I’m all in.
I hope your week improves.

Hi Nancy! Nice to see you here at More Cowbell.
Yep, I was there for the weekend and she called me on my way to work today and let me know she’d passed. It’s hard.
Bill the Cat Rocks!! I’m so glad your writing is going well. 🙂

I’m doing alright on my goals. I’m reworking them this week. I think it’ll be a better fit.

I think part of the value of ROW80 is the reworking of our goals to get the best fit for the way life actually is. You keep going!
