All-in-all it has been a good #Row80 week.
Blogging is going stupendously. With this post, I put up six blogs this week and I’ve been having such a great time on both More Cowbell and Writers In The Storm. In case you can’t tell: I ♥ Blogging!
I get my reward for that love every day from my More Cowbell peeps, but I got some EXTRA love today being included in Jane Friedman’s Best Tweets for Writer’s post this week over at Writer’s Digest. What an adrenaline boost!
The Work In Progress moved forward about 1500 words, or six and a half pages. I’m still short of my goal of 2,500 words a week but I’m much happier than last week because I’m seeing improvement.
My most significant discovery this week has been the #LifeListClub. I like what they’re up to enough that I’m doing a blog on it tomorrow. Stay tuned for a More Cowbell Mash-up featuring this fun group. 🙂
Last but not least, Margie Lawson has been so crazy with the Open House for Lawson Writer’s Academy (LWA) that she wasn’t able to come back to visit with us until last night. The winner of one of Margie’s Amazing Lecture Packets is. . . STACY GREEN.
Stacy, you get to pick from one of the following lecture packets:
- Empowering Characters’ Emotions
- Deep Editing: The EDITS System, Rhetorical Devices, and More
- Writing Body Language and Dialogue Cues Like a Psychologist
- Powering Up Body Language in Real Life:
Projecting a Professional Persona When Pitching and Presenting - Defeat Self-Defeating Behaviors
I’ve provided Margie with your address and she’ll be emailing you.
Were you able to visit the Open House this weekend? There is soooooo much going on over at LWA, it’s worth taking a peek. For those of you on Team Row80, how are things going?

Hope you have an amazing (and productive) week!

Jenny! I’ve been out of town and just saw this! Squee! I’m so excited! I’m going to have to do some serious thinking about what I’m going to choose.
Thank you so much! You’re doing awesome on the blogging front, and the fact that you managed to get to your WIP on top of all the amazing blogging is really impressive.
Keep up the great work, and thank you again!

Serious, SQUEEEE! I was so happy for you, Stacy! There is more info about each one on her site – I’d be torn between #1 (Empowering Character Emotions) and #2 (Deep EDITS). I’ll be interested to know which of the five most appealed to you.
Thanks for the encouragement – we all need that daily, don’t we? 🙂

Thank you! I checked out her site, and while I’m torn between #1 and 2, I think I’ll go with Empowering Character Emotions, because it seems to touch on everything, and it looks like that’s something that should come before Deep Edits. So excited! Thank you again!

Impressive! And an inspiration. I’ve just finished the week’s worth of blogs, plus another online column, in the hopes/plans to do WIP work this week. Oh, and Margie Lawson ROCKS!

I’m so glad you’ve been enjoying Margie, Amy! And I find YOU impressive, getting all your weekly blogs done before the week has even begun (she does FIVE, folks)!

Great work, Jen! Progress is progress and that is the point of the ROW80 experience.
I’ll be sure to stop in tomorrow (being that I am one of the Life List writers), can’t wait to see your post.
By the way, I’m giving you a particular compliment back…I am also now subscribed to you (read my reply over at my site). Have a great evening, Jen 😀

LOL, Gene! I am proud to get this compliment back…I understand the rabid *FEAR OF THE OVERFLOWING INBOX*.

Great progress Jenny 🙂
I struggle to post to my blog twice a week and here you post every day. That in its self is inspirational. I hope to one day be able to bring myself to blog every day. For now I will stick with the two times a week until it becomes such a habit that it takes no effort to remember to make a post.
Kuddos to you!

Linda,
I don’t think there is a thing wrong with twice a week if you’re enjoying it. I post more because writing short is a vacation for me. It’s the long, structured writing that often feels like pulling teeth to me.
You might enjoy my post from a few weeks back called, “Is Your Blog Eating You Alive: https://jennyhansenauthor.wordpress.com/2011/06/30/is-your-blog-eating-you-alive/.

I am SO not surprised you were included in BEST TWEETS FOR WRITERS.
Channel Elmer Fudd looking for that wascally wabbit. That’s what your blog posts are for me — since I don’t yet (gasp!) tweet. My website, however is coming soon to cyberspace near you.
I used another phrase of yours on LWA Open House–Margie-fan-atic–and gave credit to Jenny Hansen’s COWBELL like a good girl.
Not that I’m competitive or anything, but I added “beat Jenny Hansen in a phrase-athon” to my bucket list.
So far, it’s Jenny, 2; Gloria, zip. But, I finish faster than I start. Er. In contests.
Would share some news, but I’m on deadline to finish a guest blog for Sherry Isaac of sherryisaac.com, Romance & Beyond blog, and STORYTELLER soon-to-be-released book fame.
Last bit NOT a shameless plug for Sherry (even though she’s worth it). It’s what I hope will be a “get out of jail free” card in case I miss deadline.
Off to take care of that task. Then, I get to play.

Gloria,
I swear you, Sherry and all the Margie-grads breathe so much joy into this blog for me! I look forward to your comments. You let me know if you need help Tweeting. What’s the point of knowing a technology gal like myself if you don’t get the perks.
I’m gonna have to go see this guest blog at http://web.me.com/sherryisaac/Sherry_Isaac/Home.html 🙂
Let me know if it’s somewhere different. (And that WAS a shameless plug for Sherry!)

That’s my home site, Jenny (thank you) where my newly debuting in just a few days book (Storyteller) can be purchased, the book trailer can be watched and my own monthly blog, Wildflower, can be read.
Gloria’s post will be on Romance & Beyond, the weekly blog I share with Carole St-Laurent and Sharon Claire. (The current offering is ‘I Want A Margie Barbie’ by Yours Truly.)

Jenny, congratulations on Best Tweets. I have yet to Tweet. Could it be my aversion to Tweety Bird?
Gloria Richard neglected to announce she has made it through to the second round in The Molly with amazing scores and comments from her judges AND scored perfect in a separate category, the Unskinkable Heroine.
Lots of winners at LWA’s Open House, too, so, kudos all over the place!

WOW! Yes, she DID neglect to tell us about The Molly *stern eye on Gloria*! Thanks for telling us about it. I’m so impressed with all of you that can sustain “it” for an entire manuscript. I’m telling you, for me it is pulling TEETH.
Soooo glad y’all had a great time at the LWA Open House!

YAY, Jenny! You are very deserving of the Best Tweet nod.
I did join the Open House, and I’m thinking about taking some of Margie’s courses – if nothing else, I’m definitely buying some packets!
