A “Devil-ish” Playground AND June Webinar Winners

To quote Kristen Lamb: SQUEEEEEEEEEEEE!

I have fun news!
For the next several days it’s gonna be recess on the playground here on More Cowbell (and in several other places).

I mean, seriously fun PLAY TIME where we:
Romp.
Cavort.
Dance naked—
Erm, sorry…got carried away.

More Cowbell is going to be The Devil’s Playground for the next few days to get ready for the launch party of James Rollins’ new book, The Devil Colony, on June 21st. (Another SQUEEEEEE!)

Between now and Tuesday, we’ll be waving our devilish pom-poms and crooning:

J-A-M-E-S…J-A-M-E-S…J-A-M-E-S… And Jimbo was his name-o!

(For all of you with little ones, I’ll bet you have B-I-N-G-O in your heads right now too! As you’ll see below, Mr. Rollins probably won’t mind my Toddler Brain linking him to a song about dogs. I’ll bet that Bingo was a Devil Dog though…)

For all of you that haven’t met James, below is a short video that gives you a window into his devilish world. Did any of you know he’s a veterinarian?? Nowadays he’s mostly an adventurer (read: hottie) and a wickedly wonderful writer.

Between now and Tuesday, several paths will lead to Jim:

More details tomorrow on the (big) launch party, Twitter hashtag, etc. Be prepared to put on your play clothes and come party HERE on The Devil’s Playground!

ANNOUNCEMENT: June Winners of the Let’s Meet Up (for Training) Contest!!

For those of you who are new to More Cowbell, we are in our second month of this contest. The May Winners chose LinkedIn as their training du jour. We got onto the More Cowbell Party Line for a fun-filled hour of LinkedIn training, complete with a manual.

NOTE: All winners got the manual whether they were able to attend or not (a few of you were on vacation…SO jealous!).

I’ve been throwing your name into The Hat – y’all remember the Big Birthday Hat right? It seemed like the great thing to use for this but somebody misplaced it earlier this week, causing a delay of our June Webinar announcement.

The winners will vote on their topic of choice and we will schedule a webinar. Topic ideas from your comments:

LOL…the hat is safely tucked into the corner on top of my dresser. I had someone “help” me clean and we lost the hat for a few days. I’m looking forward to your Barefoot with Jim post. I can’t wait to see where you go with it.

Yay! A second chance to be a part of a webinar — couldn’t make the last one, work is funny that way — they don’t want me hanging out online.
    My choices:
    Setting up Word Press
    General Computer Knowledge
    Twitter
    But, I really don’t care — they’re all good!

I was happy to pull your name too, Amy. Jeez, can you believe those people don’t want you browsing the web on their time? The nerve! We’ll have to find out when your lunch hour is for the next one so it works for you. Thanks for sharing the topic preferences…as I told Damien, I’m keeping track.

Very cool. I’m keeping a list and we’ll have an email vote so I have a chance to put together some cheat sheets on the topic of choice. Thanks, Damien!

  7. Winner, winner, chicken dinner! I love winning! I’m game for anything – there’s so much on Linkedin that we could continue on with that conversation, or I always love your WORD shortcuts. 🙂 I imagine that we’d do the webinar on a weekday, and I wanted to let you know that I’m not available the 23rd or 24th (June).

I just recently bought James’ The Doomsday Key and The Skeleton Key. I hope he comes to Dallas and I’ll buy The Devil Colony & try for an autograph!

Thank you for the linkage, my dear!

Can’t wait to see the pics of you with James’ books!! We’re gonna have a WANA Launch Party on all our blogs…it’s a party…it’s a party…who’s our boyfriend…(James!)
