Jenny fills her nights with humor: writing memoir, women’s fiction, chick lit, short stories (and playing on the floor with her toddler baby girl). By day, she provides training and social media marketing for an accounting firm. After 15 years as a corporate software trainer, she’s digging this sit down and write thing.
Jenny is an avid seeker of “more”…More words, more creativity, More Cowbell! Finding those qualities that are unique in every person and every piece of fiction gets her all fired up. Whether it’s words or skills, hobbies or jobs, Jenny wants to hear more about your “COWBELL.”
Find Jenny on Twitter at JennyHansenCA or over on the Writers In The Storm blog.
Notes from Jenny about what you might see on More Cowbell:
This is a very loose list because something exciting like the James Rollins Worldwide Book Launch Party might upset the schedule but here is what I’m up to MOST of the time….
More Cowbell Monday – this might be a Mash-up of great links or whatever More Cowbell-ish thing that’s on my mind. The biggest free-for-all thus far has been Do I Have A Dirty Mind?
Techie Tuesday - Always a post about cool technology or the technical points of writing / branding. My current fave here is 5 Great Bits of Wisdom From a New York Times Bestseller.
“W” Days - I don’t often post on Wednesdays or Weekends (except for Risky Baby Business on Saturdays!) so when I do, it could be ANYTHING. My fave so far is What Scares You The Most?
Thoughty Thursday - Thursdays are about whatever’s on my mind that week. It’s nearly always a thought provoking post. My fave so far is Are You The Hand You Think You Are?
Lovin’ Fridays - I rarely post on Fridays, but if I do it might be about weekend dates, the Key to Man-Speak, or the do’s and dont’s of dating. It could just be a Love-Fest for my More Cowbell readers. I think the most hilarious so far is Embarrassing Dating Moments – Part 2.
Risky Baby Business – Saturdays are all about babies here at More Cowbell. It might be something serious like When Pregnancy Goes Awry or something lighthearted like Because Sometimes Pregnancy’s Funny. But, if we post on Saturdays, it will always be a topic surrounding getting, finding, or caring for babies.
Sunday Updates – Sundays are usually to update and encourage my pals at Kait Nolan’s groovy brainchild: A Round of Words In 80 Days (or ROW80).
Please let me know if you have other favorite posts OR blog ideas for me to tackle… I’m all about MORE!
*waving hellooooooooo to all the More Cowbell QR Code users*
(Have you run to purchase your Christmas Thunderwear?)

I love your blog here. Easy to read, good font, nice colors.
More Cowbell please!
Jenny, I can hardly wait to read more of your Cowbell. I subscribed via email. Thank you for that opportunity to do so. Woohoo! I will be back to read more.
That’s one of the best site banners I have ever seen. Love it.
The Title is AWESOME!!! ring on sister..
Since I couldn’t sleep, I found your blog through my dusty WordPress account. lol. I’ll be updating it next week – I put myself on this “plan” and stage 1 is almost done. That being one more poetry e-book to finish and then I’m back to the novel WIP and assorted short stories. Looking forward to reading your blog. I have a brand heating up for ya! :p
Can’t wait to go check out the blog when the new facelift is in place. Be sure to alert me.
FINALLY I’ve found a women’s fiction writer in the bloggosphere! I’m sure there are plenty but lately it seems paranormal and YA are all the rage. As for my cobwell, I guess its being a Canadian girl who grew up in countryside and decided to move to the Capital of Europe….which also happens to be the capital in chocolate!
Looking forward to reading your blog.
Nicole
Oh, Nicole! Stick with me and we’ll get you all set up.
I know lots of women’s fiction authors – you might also enjoy my group blog at http://writersinthestorm.wordpress.com because we have another WF author over there too and there is fantastic writing advice.
Happy to see you here and please let me know if you’re looking for something and not finding it!
Excellent. I’m on the look out for writing advice. I’ve subscribed to Writers in the Storm as well!
Pleased to meet you.
That’s awesome, Nicole! Are you going to any writer’s conferences any time soon? If so, you will enjoy the article on WITS today about pitching.
Hola Jenny:
Funny, I was just thinking today about an Excel workshop since I love Excel for keeping track of everything in my life, including my writing toolkit. I love hyperlinking, it saves oodles of time and keeps everthing two degrees within reach!
Hi Jenny,
I’ve awarded you the Appreciated Follower Award http://wp.me/pPSyB-2s
Enjoy!
Oh, wow, Elizabeth!!! I’ve got to go click and see what this is all about. My brain is finally recovering from the stomach flu.

Hi Jenny. Came over to check out your Triberr post. You need a cool masthead for Cowbell to go with the fun, hip writing style. Email me if you want some designer suggestions; I’m an advertising creative director so know lots of freelancers who are good and won’t charge you a million dollars for great graphics.
Jenny!!!
Are you going to be doing any posts on LinkedIn or maybe you have old ones I could look at?? I am super confused!! <3
Thanks, Jenny.

Hi Jenny,
Would you be willing to participate in something we are doing for Susie Lindau on Friday morning? I am contacting as many of her followers as possible. My thought is that we all post on our own blogs on Friday with the same title, “Susie Strong”. The content would say something simple like, We are thinking of you. I haven’t known Susie for long but this blogging world is such a family. I thought it would be nice for her to see this message from as many of us as possible. Her husband is going to be updating us after her surgery. He can tell her or she can see it once she is up to it. Are you in? Thanks, Maria aka brickhousechick
I’d love to, Maria! I am doing a Pimp or Promote party this Friday (similar to her Use and Abuse Me Day) so it’s perfect timing. And I’m going to be biting my nails for her on Friday so it will give me something productive to do with my energy.
Thanks so much, Jenny! I’ll have to check out your party!
I tweeted you, but your moniker wasn’t “brickhousechick”…hopefully I got it right.
I don’t do twitter. I have an account but never use it.
OK, here’s the shortlink for the post that goes live tomorrow at 6 am ET: http://wp.me/p1sxbT-1Mt
I can’t open it. It says page not found.
You won’t be able to open it till it goes live. Just copy it into whatever list or mashup you’re making.
Not sure I understand (pardon my stupidity)
. Is this the post you are going to do tomorrow and you are just showing me, or are you thinking I am including other people’s in my post?
This is the link to the post that is going live tomorrow.
Since you have rallied the troops, I figured you’d capitalize on the wave of love you started by linking to these posts (it helps drive traffic to your blog to do so).
If you don’t decide to include links that’s fine…but that link won’t be live till 6 am Eastern on 5/31.
Gotcha! Thanks for educating me since I am fairly new to this. I will link your post on mine.
Coolness. I’m doing my version of Susie’s “Use Me and Abuse Me” day and holding a celebration of online friends.
Sounds great! It’s been nice “meeting” you and I will be checking out your blog.
